CONCEPT OF THE INSTALLATION

Nine objects that remind us of “the eternal” are placed in the room (it is something like a sarcophagus). Light shines upward (light of “the past,” “memory,” of something very significant) from the center of each object. There are documents and archival materials lying in special niches along the perimeter of the “sarcophagus” and these are also illuminated, but more weakly than the light emanating from the center. The room does not have any additional lighting and is illuminated only via this vertical light being reflected from the ceiling.

The entire essence of the installation rests in the special atmosphere of mystery and concentration evoked by the effect of this lighting.
